SH Studios’ Ramadan/Eid 2019 collection combines everyday essentials with striking details, evoking a modern take on femininity. Inspired by trees in a forest, designer Suhaila Al Shaili introduces prints for the first time in wood texture patterns. Blurring the lines between daywear and functional eveningwear, the collection blends statement tailoring with polished minimalism.

The organic color palette features shades of burgundy, aegean blue, sand, white and black. Collaborating with local artist Hessa Alsuwaidi, custom made prints in abstract wood grain patterns add a distinctive element. Natural fabrics are sourced from Japan and Spain in raw silk, tulle and taffeta, highlighting the bold, directional shapes. Referencing the kimono, silhouettes are fluid with clean outlines and unique details. Wrap abayas and shirt dresses feature frayed edges, sheer overlays and hoods while wide pleated panels and structured off the shoulder styles illustrate the abstract direction of the collection.

Delivering her signature style of refined minimalism, Sh Studios’ Ramadan/Eid ‘19 collection exudes understated sophistication.
