Kay Li, an exciting emerging fashion label, introduces its SS14 collection – City of Lights Hong Kong, taking inspiration from her much loved home town Hong Kong, a city that never sleeps, this Spring Summer 14 collection radiates with lights, youth, and energy. Celebrating the creativeness of Hong Kong street wear culture, this collection comprise of various mix-match pieces for every occasions. From elegant long skirt to semi-sheer frill top, sharp-cut tailored jackets to printed trousers, there is a subtle sense of lightness in this season. Unique geometric patterns reflect the grid nature of Hong Kong, while the use of iridescent fabrics imitates building facades of this vibrant city. This collection aims to encapsulate modernity in a fun and energetic style. A dash of emerald green and iridescent gold add playfulness to this mostly monochrome collection. About the designer:
Kay Li, a Hong Kong-born fashion designer, started her eponymous label in 2012 after graduating from ESMOD University with an 1st Fashion award in New Couture and an Excellence award. She was selected as an Emerging Talent in the region to showcase during Dubai Fashion Week in 2010. Her graduation collection in 2012 received much positive press and has been seen featured in numerous fashion online blogs and a fashion spread on XPose magazine, an online magazine dedicated to emerging artists in the Gulf Region. She was recently invited to debut her AW13 collection at Studio F by Fashion TV with celebrities & FTV owner Michel Adam among the audience. The essence of her label is to produce innovative pieces that express and accentuate individuality. Growing up in Hong Kong, she is greatly infuenced by the artistic and edgy asian fashion aesthetics. Mixing form, fabrics, and designs in a new manner, the label aims to capture the character and emotions of a distinctive woman.
